Game “Drip” from Singapore named as a finalist of GDWC 2013-2014

Game "Drip" from Singapore was named a finalist of the Game Development World Championship (GDWC) 2013-2014 competition last month.

The GDWC is an annual competition organised by Viope Ltd, a provider of eLearning solutions for computer programming and mathematics.

The GDWC 2013-2014 saw the participation of 749 teams of students and professional game developers from 79 countries. A total of 69 games were submitted from 8 October 2013 to 26 January 2014 for judging.

Judges for the competition included representatives from Rovio, Redlynx, Housemarque, Remedy, GrandCru, IGDA, Game Reactor and Viope.  According to Viope's blog, critical factors influencing the judging include the originality, polish level and the whole experience of the game.

Fire Horse Studio from Brazil walked home with the main prize for its "Like a Boss" game. The team won a trip to Finland and a visit to game studios such as Rovio and Redlynx.

  • Brickvoid from Finland
  • Drip from Singapore
  • Greak from Mexico
  • Hopping Penguin from Finland
  • Like a Boss from Brazil
  • Medieval Apocalypse from Hungary
  • Rencounter from Russia
  • School Cheater from Vietnam
  • World of One from Kyrgyzstan
