Google's rumoured Gem smartwatch is becoming more of a reality with specs leaked online.
Smartwatches and wearable tech is booming right now but Google hasn't stepped into the foray. This could be changing soon with leaked specifications for a possible Gem smartwatch courtesy of notorious leaker, evleaks.
The popular Twitter account says that the Google Gem device will come with a 1.65in IPS LCD screen which has a 280 x 280 resolution. It will also feature 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage but the processor is yet to be decided.
"Apparently Google's smartwatch is being made by LG, and will launch at I/O." said evleaks on Twitter.
It seems LG is a popular manufacturing partner after working with Google on the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 smartphones. LG's not very experienced in the wearable market (not that many firms are) with just its LG Lifeband Touch which was announced at CES.
Google I/O is the firm's annual developer conference which takes place at the end of June. It's also where Google could be unveiling its rumoured Nexus 8 tablet, tipped to be another Asus partnership.
Although it has been dubbed the Google Gem, or Google Watch, it would seem strange for the firm not to launch the new device under the popular and recognisable Nexus brand. We'll keep an eye out for any more details on the Google Gem smartwatch and keep you up to date.
