Move is to enable airline to build bookings share in the B2B channel.

Jet Asia Airways has signed a twp-year distribution agreement with Abacus International as the Bangkok-based Thai airline seeks to build share of bookings in the B2B channel across the Asia Pacific.

A press statement by Abacus International said the contract covers 29 key feeder markets generating bookings for the carrier.

It said Abacus is the first Global Distribution System to carry Jet Asia content.

This will give travel agent users of Abacus technology access to all the airline's existing and planned services, fares and ancillary products.

The airline has new scheduled services connecting Bangkok Suvarnabhumi and Phuket to Indonesian and Saudi Arabian destinations.

These developments expand a route network that already spans China, Korea and Japan.

As it doubles its fleet this year, Jet Asia is also investing in new channels of distribution to stimulate and manage increased demand.

This includes B2B commerce of which Abacus will be an important component, according to the press statement.
