MNCs and SMBs take up nine per cent more space in CommunicAsia2010

ICT trade show grows as international players stake claim to increased ICT spending in Asia

SINGAPORE, 3 JUNE 2010 - Asia's premier business event for the global ICT industry which opens from 15 - 18 June 2010 has grown bigger than ever.  

Growth in ICT spending in Asia (about US$184 billion in 2010, according to IDC) is drawing a large number of companies to the trade show in Singapore.

CommunicAsia2010, together with BroadcastAsia2010, will feature almost 2,000 exhibitors from 57 countries and regions, said an official announcement. These international companies, ranging from market-leading multinationals to innovative small and medium-sized enterprises, will take up nine per cent more space within 58,000 sq m of hall space in Singapore Expo.

China making its presence felt

The biggest exhibitors hail from Asia and the US.  China, which emerged as the biggest overseas contributor of exhibitors two years ago, follows up with a 21 per cent increase in its number of exhibitors to a total of 199.

Exhibitors from Hong Kong and Indonesia have also increased significantly by 17 per cent and 35 per cent to 54 and 38 exhibitors respectively. The second largest overseas contingent of exhibitors hails from the US.  

Highlights of CommunicAsia2010

CommunicAsia2010, with support of the Mobile Alliance Singapore (MA), Mobile Entertainment Forum (MEF) and Wireless Industry Partnership (WIP), will show the latest developments and innovations in mobile applications, technologies and solutions by top-notch mobile developers, content providers and independent software vendors from around the world.

According to official announcements, visitors to the show will see the latest products and solutions from 24 group pavilions, including the new entrants from Bangladesh, a group led by India's Telecom Equipment and Services Export Promotion (TEPC), and South Korea's Gwangju Info & Culture.

Key satellite players, telecom service providers and key infrastructure solutions providers at this year's show include Asia Broadcast Satellite, GlobeCast, Huawei, Intelsat, Inmarsat, MEASAT, NTT DoCoMo, PCCW Global, Research in Motion (RIM), Samsung Electronics, SingTel Satellite, Skype, Telekom Malaysia and ZTE.
