Siemens Convergence Creators’ walletXpress is tested and ready to run on Oracle Database, according to the company

Siemens Convergence Creators' next-generation mobile payment platform, walletXpress version  2.1, has achieved Oracle Database Ready status through Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN), the Vienna-headquartered company announced today.

Siemens Convergence Creators GmbH, headquartered in Vienna, provides its customers with innovative products, turnkey solutions and services in the fields of communication networks, service and customer management, public safety and security, multimedia infotainment, as well as space technology.

Instead of paying by cash or check, subscribers can use their mobile phones to pay for goods and services, transfer money and top up their prepaid account through walletXpress, the company said in a statement.

According to the technology provider, walletXpress combines leading-edge technologies and applications such as comprehensive database infrastructure, hardware and software RAID, backup to disk, campus configuration and disaster recovery.

To achieve the necessary "carrier-gradeness" as well as the performance that prevents bottlenecks even in peak times, Siemens Convergence Creators decided to rely on the market-leading capabilities of Oracle Real Application Clusters, the company said in its statement.

Oracle Database Ready is part of the Oracle Exastack Ready programme which allows partners, such as Siemens Convergence Creators, to be recognized by Oracle for developing, testing and tuning their applications on the latest component products of the Oracle Exadata Database Machine, Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud, or Oracle SuperCluster engineered systems.

"The Oracle Exastack Ready program enables partners to deploy their applications with a complete, integrated and cloud-ready infrastructure that will help them accelerate innovation, unlock new features and functionality, and deliver faster, more reliable solutions," said Kevin O'Brien, Senior Director, ISV and SaaS Strategy, Oracle. "By achieving Oracle Database Ready status, Siemens Convergence Creators has established a foundation for their application to efficiently run on and leverage the latest features in Oracle Database, to deliver superior value to customers."
