Bank Muamalat leverages location-based analytics platform to optimise its asset network

Indonesia's Bank Muamalat has adopted Esri's location-based analytics platform called ArcGIS to optimise its network of ATMs and branches.

The platform will address inefficiencies within the bank due to information gaps and siloed intelligence. It will do so by integrating business data from multiple departments into one dynamic smart map. The bank's decision makers can then get a picture of the bank's whole operation in real-time via a dynamic executive dashboard.

Apart from overseeing operations, the smart platform will allow the bank to penetrate new markets with its products and services.

 "[The solution will enable] Bank Muamalat to assess potential new markets, strategically distribute their network of ATMs and branches, better understand their existing customers' needs and transactional behaviours, and identify and create a clear advantage over their competitors," said Esri Indonesia's CEO A. Istamar.

He added: "Most importantly, the smart mapping platform will help highlight opportunities for the bank without interrupting established workflows. This gives them a more in-depth understanding of the demographic and economic forces that are at work in the targeted customer segment quickly and efficiently."

Besides Bank Muamalat, Bank of America and the Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) Banking group are also using ArcGIS to drive down operating costs while simultaneously creating significant competitive advantage and enhancing  service quality.
