What is ZrC powder?

ZrC powder synthetic method
Use berkelium oxide and charcoal as raw materials. Zirconia and carbon black can also be fully mixed, pressurized molding, in the induction graphite crucible, also heated to 1800ºC in a hydrogen atmosphere, adding 1% ~ 2% carbon black, and then annealing in vacuum at 1700 ~ 1900ºC, that is, zirconium carbide. Or zirconia and magnesium metal as raw materials, mix the two, into a recyclable reactor, continuous methane gas, and temperature to 750ºC, and hydrochloric acid pickling to remove the by-products, zirconium carbide.
Auxiliary metal bath method. Cobalt was used as the auxiliary metal, and the metal bath was composed of zirconium and cobalt, which were added to the graphite crucible in a ratio of 1:6, covered with graphite powder, and heated in a Taman furnace with hydrogen as the protective gas. The temperature was rapidly increased to 1500℃ within 5 minutes, and then to 2000℃ within 15 minutes. The temperature was maintained for 30 minutes, and then cooled to room temperature for 2 hours. The product of the reaction is crushed and treated with hot hydrochloric acid to dissolve the cobalt. Excess graphite is separated by hydrofluoric acid treatment.
Gas reaction method.
