The Effect of Hollow glass powder

What is Hollow glass powder?

The hollow glass powder is a micron-sized hollow glass microsphere with a smooth surface. The main chemical component is borosilicate glass, a hollow transparent sphere under an electron microscope. Hollow glass beads have low density, high strength, high-temperature resistance, acid and alkali resistance, low thermal conductivity, electrical insulation, and other characteristics. They have good fluidity and chemical stability and are multi-functional frontier new materials across fields. Hollow spheres also have uses ranging from storage and slow release of pharmaceuticals and radioactive tracers to research in controlled storage and release of hydrogen. Microspheres are also used in composites to fill polymer resins for specific characteristics such as weight, standability, and sealing surfaces.

The effect of Hollow glass powder

Hollow glass powder (HGMs) containing a large amount of recycled glass is used to develop ultra-lightweight engineered cementitious composites (ECCs), which are more sustainable than standard ECC. Carbon nanofibers (CNFs) and activated carbon powder (ACP) were used to improve the mechanical and shrinkage properties of ultra-lightweight ECCs. The parameters investigated were flowability, compressive strength, flexural toughness, strain-hardening performance, and dry shrinkage. ECCs exhibited a density of 1449–1282 kg/m3 by replacing 60%–100% of its fly ash with HGMs, classified as ultra-lightweight ECCs. Including HGMs improved the flowability but reduced composites' compressive and flexural strength. Results confirm the feasibility of developing an ultra-lightweight ECC with a compressive strength of 28.7 MPa and a dry shrinkage strain of less than 1250 microstrain when the composite is reinforced with CNFs. It is also shown that CNFs are more effective than ACP in controlling dry shrinkage and overcoming the adverse effect of HGMs inclusion on the flexural performance of ECCs.

Hollow glass powder recycled from waste glass can be used in cementitious materials

Hollow glass powder recycled from waste glass can be used in cementitious materials to mitigate the environmental impact of waste glass abandoned in the environment and develop lightweight materials. Waste glass is a non-biodegradable waste left in landfills without recycling and causes serious environmental issues. Hence, waste glass as filler or cement partial replacement material in cementitious materials is of increasing interest worldwide; HGMs offer the lower density and greater material greenness compared to fly ash cenospheres as a popular material to produce lightweight cementitious composites. HGMs can be made using a significant proportion of recycled glass; for instance, 45%–100%, and can embody low energy costs. Therefore, replacing cementitious materials with waste-recycled HGMs produces a lighter and more sustainable product.

Price of Hollow glass powder

Hollow glass powder particle size and purity will affect the product's Price, and the purchase volume can also affect the cost of Hollow glass powder. A large amount of large amount will be lower. The Price of Hollow glass powder is on our company's official website.
