What is WS2 powder?
Tungsten disulfide is an inorganic compound with the formula WS2 and molecular weight 247.97.
Gray with the metallic luster of fine crystals or powder, belonging to the hexagonal crystal system, semiconductor, and diamagnetic. The natural mineral is scheelite. Layered structure, easy to dissociate, similar to graphite lubrication properties.Used as a lubricant, as in aerosols.

Slightly soluble in cold water, soluble in hot water.Insoluble in hydrochloric acid and alkali (except concentrated nitric acid and hydrofluoric acid).Soluble in molten alkali, insoluble in alcohol.The density of 7.6 g · cm - 3. It has reducibility, can react with hot concentrated sulfuric acid, nitric acid, aqua regia, and other strong oxidants, and can be converted into WO3 when heated in air or oxygen. When heated to 1250℃ in a vacuum, it is decomposed into tungsten and sulfur. In a dry pure nitrogen stream, the mixture of tungsten trisulfide and sulfur is co-headed to 900℃ to sublimate the excess sulfur, and the residue is tungsten disulfide.
WS2 powder preparation methods
1. Roasting decomposition method:
Tungstic acid and ammonia reacted at 57 ~ 60℃ for 3h, and the natural precipitation was more than 16h. The ammonium tungstate was then reacted with hydrogen sulfide gas to produce ammonium tetrathiotungstate, which was decomposed into tungsten disulfide after roasting at a high temperature.

2. Tungsten reacts very slowly with liquid sulfur.WS2 can be formed by sulfur-passing vapor from red-hot tungsten.WS2 can be formed when tungsten is mixed with Stoic thiowa and reacted at 800℃ for 24h in nitrogen atmosphere. If reacted at 6MPa and 1800℃, orthonormal WS2 can be formed.
3, with ammonium tetrathiotungstate as raw material, under the condition of air isolation, heating decomposition of ammonium tetrathiotungstate, heating at a temperature gradient of 100~200℃/ hour from room temperature to 700~1200℃, and this temperature for 24~48 hours, and then at a temperature gradient of 30~110℃/ hour to room temperature, discharge crushing.
